Gamification of note-making

The other large benefit was that during a time where it felt like everything had stopped moving forward and time stood still, I still had tangible forward progress towards my academic goals. The structure of the classes meant that I was moving forward in part of my life, though the rest of it was standing still.

What structure could we provide in note-making to provide the feeling of tangible forward progress?

Visualizing progress and growth in our thinking is important.
