Think about woodworkers - custom stations for the different kinds of work that they do

• Woodworkers use their tools to modify their space
• Workbenches
• The fact that software developers don't do this is an indication that software is still too difficult to build and computers still suck too much
  • Equivalent would be building your own window manager?
  • Large screen

Some modifications in my home office

• Large whiteboard with camera on it
• Second monitor deliberately off-axis
  • Tried note-taking on it, but turned out note-taking begged my primary attention
• Mounted iMac display - clock + dashboards
• Stand for writing while standing
• Comfy chair for sitting and writing - lap desk for while I do it
• Books!
• Pleasant neighborhood to walk

I'm dreaming of a larger office space and ways I might be able to customize that space for different uses

• I want persistent work projects left open!
