# Building a Streaming Studio Notes ## Video ### How wide of a camera angle? I have a 22mm prime, but it's maybe too tight? ![[Pasted image 20230622153211.png]] ![[Pasted image 20230622154333.png]] The background blur from the 22mm is nice, though. Prime would be great. 15-16mm seems about right. ![[Pasted image 20230622153243.png]] Brings more of my torso in the shot, allows for a bit more headroom, more opportunity to use the room to get a nice composition. Conclusion: Try [this lens](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YM2NZ9X/?coliid=I15S5LYXL9H3ZG&colid=27HC4E82XIC2K&psc=1&ref_=list_c_wl_lv_ov_lig_dp_it). ### Angled camera or straight-on? ![[Pasted image 20230622153536.png]] ![[Pasted image 20230622153543.png]] ![[Pasted image 20230622153603.png]] ![[Pasted image 20230622153447.png]] ![[Pasted image 20230622153503.png]] I think I slightly prefer the angled look, as it cuts some of the clutter from my office background. ## Lighting I have the key lighting working great, but I need to control the overall brightness in the room. - Get a roll-down blackout blind to block light coming in from the door. - Get some low lighting down low behind the leather chair that can shoot up and illuminate the back wall. - Replace the string lights? ## Audio The Blue condenser mic is *great* for warm vocals and recording with the mic in the shot. - Get an audio interface set up so that I'm not using the Blue USB interface. I need a setup for streaming that allows me to move around and sounds better than my lav mic.
